Account Deletion Request Guide

Step 1: Submit Deletion Request

Send an email to support@gapfinance.ng with the subject line "Account Deletion Request."

Via Website Form:

  1. Visit our website: www.ibank.gapfinance.ng

  2. Navigate to the "Account Settings" or "Privacy Settings" section.

  3. Locate the option for "Account Deletion" or a similar feature.

  4. Fill out the deletion request form with the required information.

Step 2: Verify Your Identity

To ensure the security of your account, we may require you to verify your identity before processing the deletion request. This may involve confirming specific details related to your account.

Step 3: Confirmation Email

Once your deletion request is received and verified, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging your request. This email will include additional information about the process and the data that will be deleted.

Transaction Data:

  • Payment history

  • Transaction details

Preferences:

  • Custom settings

  • Messages

  • Support inquiries

Types of Data Retained for 90 Days

  1. Transaction Data:

  • While personal identifiers are removed, aggregated transaction data may be retained for analytical purposes.

Audit Logs:

  • Security logs and audit trails necessary for maintaining the integrity of the platform.

Step 4: Permanent Deletion

After the 90-day retention period, all remaining data will be permanently deleted from our systems.

  • Withdrawal of Consent:

    • You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Doing so will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
